BIOGRAPHY
Danny 'Red Boots' McMahan is simply Heathfield Rangers through and through. He is the longest serving member of the Heathfield Rangers first team and is a favourite among the lads.

Originally a centre back in Heathfields early days, Danny has since moved to play right back, a position he has grown to love, as it also gives him the licence to roam forward!

Danny is an awesome defender. He’s quick, strong in the challenge and great in the air. He’s a good reader of the game in that he always makes the right decision on when to join an attack or stay back and his timing in the challenge is immaculate. He rarely gives away free kicks. Danny is a classic ‘die hard’ defender and always seems to come out on top in those ‘50:50 must win’ challenges.

Red Boot’s game isn’t all about his defending. He is known to chip in with the odd goal too. Goals for him usually come from set pieces but he is known to have a decent shot from distance. Probably his most memorable goal from last season came against arch rivals ‘The Punch’ where he scored an amazing, spectacular, (never meant it in your life and you know it!), cross come lob come shot which nestled in the far left corner of the goal from way out on the right wing.

Danny is as reliable as they come and is one of those players who wears his heart on his sleeve and will give his all for the club! As a Chelsea fan too, you really can’t fault the guy. Top player!

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
